A brewing unit should never be pulled out of the machine by force.
Saeco states that a common cause is a brewing-unit mechanism that is not in its neutral home position.
In this case, the water tank, drip tray and grounds container should be inserted correctly, the service door closed and the fully automatic coffee machine switched off normally.
Only after all noises have stopped and the internal drive has reached its home position should another attempt be made to remove the brewing unit using the designated PUSH locking mechanism.
Another specific Saeco note concerns the descaling programme.
If the machine is still within an ongoing or not fully completed descaling process, the brewing unit cannot be removed on corresponding machines.
In this case, the descaling programme should first be completed fully.
Only afterwards should another attempt be made to remove the brewing unit.
When reinserting it, the brewing unit and internal drive must also be correctly positioned.
The assembly should never be forced into its mounting position.
The position of the mechanism and locking system should be checked in accordance with the respective operating instructions.
Forcing it into place can damage the brewing unit, drive or guide.
An increasingly stiff brewing unit can have several causes.

The brewing unit should first be thoroughly cleaned with lukewarm water.

Saeco has been known for ceramic grinders for many years.
In current Xelsis and GranAroma machines, Saeco uses a grinder made of 100% ceramic.
These current generations provide twelve grind settings.
