Consistent ground coffee is an important prerequisite for reproducible extraction.

Various modern Krups fully automatic coffee machines use conical grinders made from metal or stainless steel.

The water pump transports water from the water tank through the fully automatic coffee machine.
It works together with hoses, heater, valves and brewing system.

All components must work together correctly so that water reaches the right place at the right time.

Many modern Krups fully automatic coffee machines use the so-called Compact Thermoblock System or CTS.
Heating and brewing functions are implemented particularly compactly within the machine.
The system enables rapid heating and is closely linked to the brewing process.

Krups has used very different milk systems over the years.
A simpler Arabica fully automatic machine may, for example, have a conventional steam nozzle, while Evidence, Barista or other machines allow automatic milk beverages to be prepared.
Depending on the model, milk hoses, suction components, air channels, nozzles and valves are used for this purpose.
Cleaning therefore also differs from one machine generation to another.
Milk contains fat and protein. Residues can therefore accumulate particularly in small nozzles, hoses and air channels.
If the milk foam suddenly becomes worse, the milk line, air supply, nozzle and existing connecting parts should first be cleaned thoroughly.
Only once these areas are clean and correctly assembled should a valve fault or another technical problem be investigated.

Because the metal brewing group in modern Krups fully automatic coffee machines is not removed for regular cleaning by the user, the automatic cleaning programme has a central function.
Depending on use and machine, the machine itself prompts the user to carry out cleaning.
A designated cleaning agent is used and the internal coffee system is automatically rinsed.
The programme should be completed fully and should not be interrupted unnecessarily.
When it comes to maintenance, two fundamentally different types of deposits should be distinguished.
Coffee oils and coffee fats originate from the coffee itself and are treated when cleaning the coffee system.
Limescale, on the other hand, originates from minerals in the water used and is removed by descaling.
A cleaning tablet therefore does not automatically replace a descaler, and a descaler does not replace cleaning of the coffee system.
